No.142 is the largest nail in the collection at 29½" and is a wall plate tie. The short end was driven into the wall plate and the long end into the wall, in this case at 90˚ to the plate. (There would have been a window below and a wall at a right angle).

Two unusual nails at No.152 with 3" brass decorated heads. They were used for hanging tapestries in French houses.

No.33 shows another two French nails, both having brass acorn shaped heads, used for hanging picture frames and similar items (see subsequent pages).
